BaZi, which translates to Eight Characters or Four Pillars, is the ancient and sophisticated practice of Chinese fortune-telling. It is derived from the I-Ching, or the Book of Oracles, and has been consistently in practice for thousands of years, dating all the way back to A.D. 618 – 907!

BaZi categorizes our birth data, which includes the year, month, day and hour of birth, into four different pairs of Chinese characters, called Jia Zi. Four pairs make eight characters (or BaZi). Each pair is known as a “pillar”, hence the translation “Four Pillars”.

The eight characters are comprised of the yin and yang variations of the Five Elements (wood, fire, earth, metal and water).

Through analysis of these characters, there is much to be discovered about our “destiny” in all aspects of our lives – family, friends, relationships, fortune, fame, career/studies, business and the influence of luck in our lives. The Ba Zi analysis can be beneficial in a multitude of ways! To name just a few, one could improve work performance and gaining a significant advantage when planning a new career move.
